When I was a child, there is a memory that I ate potatoes with my parents at the fountain here ... Are there shops and stores that sell potatoes around here??
Possibly the best park in Japan. Beautiful, well kept, large, popular, and bustling.
MoreA park easily accessible and frequented by locals and travellers alike in the daytime and nighttime. Clean and orderly though food and drinks are served in the park. In summer evenings, locals dressed in traditional Japanese costumes gather and dance to celebrate the fleeting Hokkaido summer. Make sure you arrive early; the party ends at 9pm. With the backdrop of nostalgic Sapporo TV Tower, dancing with drumbeats and smiley locals is the best!
Morewas here in 3rd week of Jan 2020. theyve already preparing for the Snow Festival. but due to less snow this year, they are sourcing the snow from outside the city. the park is quite a walk from end to end.
MoreDo come for the sapporo snow festival if you can! Crowded but definitely worth it. So many sculptures and food around! Can easily spend a couple of hours going through the whole area.
MoreThis IS the site for the 71st Sapporo Snow Festival, and we were extremely lucky to be present to witness all of the happenings!! Despite the heavy snowing during our visits, and the plunging sub zero temperature, we obstinately braved ourselves, to experiance this once in a lifetime opportunity...and we were not to be disappointed...The snow structures were impressive just on their own, but the lighting and audio shows made them simply amazingly incredible!!!
MoreBeautiful with snow and winter illuminations. A lot less crowded than other parks and the night we went to see the illuminations, they were offering to take photos for free and print them for you. The size was small but still it was free. Can’t complain.
MoreJust a small park with many Japanese student singing and having fun. Great for a stroll after dinner. Catch the sight of TV tower too.
MorePeaceful. Its a nice place to rest or just relax.
Nice and huge park. Lovely in good weather
This is fantastic place when snow festival has begin. A lot of shop and food. You can chill out for walking and eating
MoreWent for snow festival. Best decision ever. Very helpful people and the food was really good
MoreLong park in the central of Sapporo. but it's not that long and easy to walk through. You can see many seasonal events like the Snow Festival, Lilac Festival, YOSAKOI Soran Festival, Summer Beer Garden, and Autumn Festival. And it's a local peaceful park when these events are off.
MoreThis was one of my favorite place where I lives in Sapporo. Very live Park people are enjoying every where. I spend my free time with friends. Festivals are happening like, Sapporo Autumn Fest, Sapporo White Illumination many people are gathered for having fun.
MoreIt would be a good place to visit during summer vacation and snow fes. in winter. In summer, you can eat many delicious foods and beer here. During snow fes., lots of sculptures to see. But, other periods, it’s not thing special.
MoreCold. I was a day early for the ice festival. I was able to watch h the sculptors at work awesome stuff. Wish I was here to see it prooer.
MoreAbsolutely love this park. Each block is unique with sculptures and fountains. Great place to people watch and enjoy the city.
MoreDefinitely a worthwhile visit when in Sapporo, particularly during the winter festival. There's large ice sculptures and light decorations that stretch the streets. The park itself is quite long, it's a great spot for a walk.During the winter festival, they have a German-fest, which is really just an excuse to sell sausages, beer, and hot chocolate. Lots of knock knack shops if you're looking for local crafts to bring back. Would highly recommend a visit even though the future winter festivals will be toned down and scaled back.
MoreBest place. Snow, music, good food and drinks. Is not very expensive if you look any place. Eat at subway, is cheap! and very good taste odon.
MoreThe park in winter is amazing. Whilst walking around the park enjoying the Sapporo White Illumination" and "Munich Christmas Market in Sapporo" happening in the park, had the amazing experience of the fluffy Hokkaido snow falling. This added another dimension to the awesome experience of Sapporo winter.
MoreQuite nice park, just always flooded with too many people
This was where the winter festival was held. So, the scenery was quite different than other seasons at this park. Definitely worth a visit to see all the hardwork results. But, I also have to say that though there were around 10 major ice art work, each quite large and amazing, there were also lots of area dedicated to selling food and drinks. So, a festival!
MoreIt's a street park with roads on either sides, is lined with shops of streetfood and is swarming with snow sculptures during the annual snow festival. The orientation feels a but off as it's not very wide and rather narrow for a large crowd.
MoreVisited here for the winter festival this year. The sculptures are a must see when in Sapporo during that time of the year.
MoreI find it hard to say this but the park, if you can call it that, looks quite sad especially during my time in winter. It was a small stretch of supposed greenery in an otherwise urban landscape where the typical salaryman and women may find some respite in their daily routine. You find some art sculptures around and small shrubberies but I imagine it wouldn't look any better in Spring and Summer? I would say that you may skip this place entirely unless you're going around catching pokemon. I hope I'm wrong but sorry Sapporo, I wished I could have say it's better :'(
MoreVisited Odori site at the time of Sapporo Snow Festival and it was indeed exquisite! Alongside its length are many interesting activities, all different from each other: from food vendors to free ice rink, story-telling on ice or snow/ice sculptures exhibition or indigenous Ainu performances... The ski-on-air stage was so thrilling even just from an observer's eyes!
MoreThey have many little shops here and when we are done with our meal, we need to bring it back to a station. I know this sounds boring but every item we bring back (such as plates and cups) we get 100 yen. Sweet
MoreSnow festival was super nice!!!! Must visit. Love the light, colors, and atmosphere.
MoreA really chill vibe place to visit during the winter, nice attraction must check out during their feburary snow festival awsome street food Warning.. always crowded at night time.
MoreVisit is the snow festival, it was amazing. The time and effort that was put into the snow sculptures is mind boggling.
MoreWonderful place! So much space with view on Eiffel Tower (Jk) This park is really interesting and huge. Last time I met a really sexy japanese guy there. Shame on me I didn’t ask his phone number. Life is unfair
MoreNice place to walk around. Nothing special if there is no festival or any other event going on
MoreThis rectangular park at the heart of the city was a hub for communal activities. There was Sapporo Beer Festival the time we visited - citizens, some got well dressed in traditional Japanese gathered there for beer and food! Beer towers were seen everywhere, but the market of this beer city was quite limited to the local few. However, it was quite disappointing as craft beer or beer of foreign brands were almost absent, and many food stalls were selling similar or identical food.
More2️⃣0️⃣1️⃣9️⃣0️⃣8️⃣0️⃣4️⃣When I was here there was a BEER FESTIVAL going one. It was awesome. Just a whole bunch of people coming together to enjoy the booze, the food and the company.I was really amazed by how "tame" the whole event was (well as least when I was there). People were loud (partly because of the surrounding music and conversations) and peaceful. People were minding their own business within their company. There was one gentleman who seems to be talking a his imagainery drinking buddy. And the temporary public toilets ... that is just fantastic. They were arranged along the park and it was convenient for everyone (and clean). Great stuff!!Please leave a LIKE if you find my comment useful. Thank you so much for your support.
MoreThe hotel view fully covered with snow was really magnificent. For 1st timer like me it's really breathtaking. The hotel breakfast had lots of choices and was very delicious. Cannot ask for more as Japan normally dont sell Breakfast by the street side like some other Asian Countries.
MoreA big giant park... I heard summer time, there will be lots of vendors selling food and drinks. But, in winter time there will be ice sculpture exhibition. We were there end of summer and closer to Fall. It’s just empty park. With sun out, lots people sitting down on the grass, some people play music...If you have been in Chicago, it’s like the Millenium Park.
MoreI attended Snow festival at Odori park, Sapporo. It was a great festival. One of the unique experiences I ever had. Must visit if you are in Japan in winters. It happens during first week of February. So make sure you plan accordingly.
MoreBeautiful gardens in Sapporo. Snow and ice sculptures are lined up throughout the park. Proud of the snow carving work from the Thailand team. Snow figurines, sea turtles that have won prizes in the Snow Festival 2020 contest.
MoreLove the shops selling variety of interesting items. They also sell variety of food and when you return the plates, they will give you ¥100 in return.
MoreA pleasant walk even though it was minus 2. The lights were out put up for the illuminations.Street food and families walking around enjoying the lights.
MoreSapporo Odori park, a nice place for sightseeing with A very beautiful view along the park, and a must visit when there is a christmas market when you visit sapporo at december
MoreThe snow festival is definitely something worthy to see. Too bad the weather this year isn't perfect, not enough snow. It is still great to see people being so creative with snow.
MoreLoved the snow during winter. An opportunity to play with them and build snowman right smack in the middle of the street. Good place to take pictures too. You can view the clock tower from here.
MoreVisited in summer so cant enjoy the park as seen in forums :-(
Lovely the city. From the canal tour, to walking tour on Icy cold during December. Great experience!
MoreA happy place in summer and very long !!
So much effort has gone into these sculptures and displays this is a place you need to come see, only on early February. Thanks to our friendly Flight Centre staff member Brendan for letting us know about it well worth the visit. Rug up it's cold 👍
MoreI visited Odori park during Christmas so there was Christmas market. There are many pop-up stores from many famous restaurants in Sapporo. Not only food but also beers and hot wine are available here. The weather was very cold but there were many people visiting the park.
MoreOne of beautiful park in Sapporo. It is very big and cleanI was available during winter. The park was full of snow. I enjoyed playing in the snow.Very well maintained by the local Authorities.I will definitely re-visit again. Thanks!
MoreIt’s not really a park. Unless there is a specific event going on, it doesn’t look like there is much to do here. The TV tower is pretty cool and worth going up though. It’s only a couple of bucks and the views are nice. There is a good gift shop on the mid deck and looked like they had a beer garden set up at the base of the tower. The under ground malls in the area have a ton of good shops and restaurants to check out.
MoreIt's a great place to relax.During the snow festival I'd recommend checking out the sculptures and food stalls too
